Saturday 7 April sees the Grand Opening of the new Babbacombe Cliff Railway Visitor Centre down on Oddicombe Beach and volunteers are needed to help staff it throughout the season. The Community Interest Company that runs the Cliff Railway is having an open morning on Saturday 24 March from 10am to 12 noon at the Visitor Centre down on Oddicombe Beach for anyone who might be interested in getting involved.
John Ayres, Company Chairman, says “We are delighted to finally be able to open the new Visitor Centre. We expect it to be very popular with locals and holidaymakers and it will give people a chance to find out a bit more about the Cliff Railway, its history and how it works. However, we do need some help so that we can have the Centre open as often as possible. By holding an open morning we’re hoping that anyone who has just a few hours a week to spare will come along to see us.”
“We already have some great volunteers who help run the railway itself and are always on the look-out for extra help with that too. Hopefully, by holding this special volunteer morning we can encourage people to come down to the Visitor Centre and have a chat with us to find out more about our plans.”
So, if you do have a bit of spare time and fancy finding out more about volunteering with the Babbacombe Cliff Railway get along to the Visitor Centre on Oddicombe Beach between 10am and 12 noon on Saturday 24 March.
