Become a Winner for Great Local Charity

The Winners 2000 Gym teams have long been big supporters of local charity Torbay Holiday Helpers Network (THHN) which Luke Tillen, a member of Winners 2000, founded 4 years ago.  THHN t-shirts are on sale at all of their gyms, they run all sorts of events for their members to get involved in and raise money and the staff do their fair share too. Earlier this month, Mark Mallen completed a 12 hour spinning cycle challenge and Glen Bevan is set to undertake a gruelling 24 hour duathlon in December.

Their latest scheme involves an Open Day on Saturday 5 October where anyone can go along to the Winners 2000 gym in Paignton and try out some of their classes in special “taster” sessions.  On offer will be Zumba, Combat, Pilates, Boxing Fit, Pump and Boot Camp.  They are asking people to pay a £5 donation to the THHN to try one of the classes or pay just £20 and stay all day.  As well as the classes there will be an opportunity to meet the instructors, tour the facilities and get some free nutritional advice.

Paignton Gym Manager Jon Ellery said “The Open Day is a great chance for current members and non members who wish to try a class for the first time to get involved. The half hour tasters mean you get to meet the instructor and receive a thorough introduction to a class so that any fears or intimidations are dissolved”.

Luke Tillen said “The Open Day is a great opportunity for people who have often thought about going to the gym and checking out what’s on offer but not really known how to go about it.  Winners 2000 gyms offer some fantastic classes and it’s really great of them to be supporting us again in this way.  I hope lots of people will go along and see the fantastic facilities that are on offer and also see what a friendly bunch they all are.”

Sarah Harris, Studio Coordinator, said ”Over the last year our studio timetable has really grown and we now offer a wide range of fitness classes suitable for all ages and abilities.  We look forward to welcoming lots of people at our taster sessions and hopefully raising some money for the THHN as well.”  Available places at each session are limited so booking is advisable.  Simply e-mail or call Leanne on 01803 524553.
