Brand new counselling service in Burton upon Trent

A brand new business has opened its doors in the centre of Burton-upon-Trent.  “Room to…” is the venue for a new counselling service for the people of Burton and the surrounding areas and is having an open day on Saturday 23 November to give everyone the chance to pop in and see what’s going on or to simply pick up an information leaflet.

This new business has been set up by Joanne Dalton, a qualified counsellor.  Joanne says “The idea is to provide a place for people to go when life gets tough or difficulties arise.  Whether people are suffering from a loss or bereavement, feeling low, stressed, anxious, unhappy, lonely or facing some other difficulty, then we are here for them to talk to.  Talking about things is the first step to really being able to express feelings and explore experiences before making any choices and changes in the future.”  She added “I have given a lot of thought to setting up a practice locally.  I am certain that the service we provide will be of value to many people.  I’m hoping plenty of people will drop by during our Open Day and see how friendly and approachable we are.  We really are here to help and we look forward to welcoming lots of people through our door.”

Room to…” is on the corner of High Street and Bridge Street next to Ego hairdressers and it seemed the ideal location to Joanne.  She said “Obviously we need to be as accessible as possible for people and we’re in a great position which is always important for any business.”  The building has been given a total overhaul and now has a smart exterior and clean, comfortable and welcoming interior with soundproofed rooms for relaxation and that all-important privacy and confidentiality.

As well as the counselling offered by Joanne and her colleagues the venue has other practice rooms available to hire by other, complementary services such as psychotherapy, learning, development and training.  These rooms can be let out on an hourly or daily basis.

So, if you’re interested in finding out more, put the date in your diary and go along on Saturday 23 November between 9.30am and 3pm.  Joanne would be delighted to see you.  In the meantime, the new website for the business (www.room-to.org.uk) is now up and running and outlines more of what’s on offer.  Or you can phone Joanne direct on 07909 591105.
